Spring 2022 women’s tennis program announced

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee – Middle Tennessee Women’s Tennis Head Coach Tayo Bailey Duvall announced the spring 2022 calendar on Wednesday afternoon.

The Blue Raiders are planning a 24-game spring schedule after a successful fall campaign that included stops in Indiana, Kentucky and Florida. The Blue Raiders were also able to get a glimpse of the hosting of tournaments at home during this streak. At the end of the regular season, MT is expected to host the 2022 Conference USA Women’s Tennis Championship at the Adams Tennis Complex from April 21-24.

Middle Tennessee women’s tennis will begin the 2022 season with five road games, starting in Fort Myers, Fla., To face Florida Atlantic in the season opener on Jan.15. The Blue Raiders will leave the Sunshine State after facing Georgia. State at a neutral location two days later.

The team will then return home to Murfreesboro to prepare to take on regional enemies in Belmont and Vanderbilt on January 21 in Nashville, Tenn. The Blue Raiders will remain in Volunteer State and use I-24 to play in Chattanooga on January 23.

After the swing on the road, Middle Tennessee returns to ATC to play four of its next five on our home courts. East Tennessee State will travel to Boro on January 28th, we will hit the road to face Austin Peay on January 30th. Next, the team will host three back-to-back home games against IUPUI, UT Martin and Alabama A&M to kick off the February games list.

Coach Duvall and his company will travel to Denton, TX to play two games in two days against opponents C-USA UTSA and North Texas on their home turf.

Middle Tennessee returns home Feb. 18 to face Samford and Ball State before embarking on a nine-game swing.

During the 44-day break away from Murfreesboro, the team will stop in Ruston, Louisiana to face Louisiana Tech and Grambling State. A trip to Windy City to face Illinois in Chicago and DePaul March 4-6. Three days later, the team will return to Louisiana with games against South Florida and Tulane in New Orleans. A return trip up north to West Virginia with games against the Thundering Herd and Cincinnati in early April. Concluding with a real road game against rival Western Kentucky on April 9.

The Blue Raiders will return home to play their final home game of the regular season against the UAB on April 16. Five days later, Middle Tennessee will host the Conference USA women’s tennis championship at the Adams Tennis Complex. The last time MT hosted a C-USA women’s tennis tournament was in 2016, the Blue Raiders fell 4-0 to CRF in the quarter-finals.
